What is Multiple Sclerosis (MS)?
Multiple sclerosis, also know known as MS, is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. Doctors have still yet to determine the cause of this chronic disease. Although there is no known cure, medicines and treatments are being discovered to slow down the progression of MS. This disease has many different symptoms for each individual. MS has many different effects of every individual person. Some symptoms may be very severe while others may be slight.
For my senior project I will be hosting a golf tournament that will benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society. MS has had a huge impact on my life considering two of my biggest role models I have were diagnosed with it more than 5 years ago, my mom, Trish, and golf coach, Kevin. Both of these two wonderful people have had a major impact on my life. My mom has always supported me and been my biggest fan since the day I was born. Kevin made me realize my true potential that I have through my golf game. He has also made me realize that I want to have the impact that he has had on me to many other kids that are striving for greatness. At my tournament, I will be honoring these two special people in my life. I have set a goal to raise $77,000. This money will be donated on behalf of their names to the MS Society proceeding the tournament. Please join us in supporting these two amazing people. |
